Roxas Audio Stream

This is how Roxas Audio Stream was created:
On February 2011, I was thinking and brain storming  planning of creating an audio streaming server here in Roxas city, which would provide audio streaming not only for the people of Roxas, Capiz but also to reach other people globally through the Internet with music.  Before, audio streaming was not possible because of dial up connection but now that we had broadband (i.e. dsl, satellite and cable modem) then maybe it is possible. Look at YouTube, it is a video streaming site and listen to Magic89.9 online, which in form an audio streaming.
After realizing that this could be possible, I started doing my research on Google for information on how to create audio streaming, how does it work and what are the necessary materials to make it work like the bandwidth, computers and software to use. Then I started asking telephone company regarding their dsl packages which telco could provide me the right bandwidth. My Dell Mini 9 was the guinea pig of this project, software were installed to run it as the server and sometimes the receiver/client.  I asked a friend/classmate, who owned a computer store/shop, to provide me the server (installment plan). BayanTel  (remember the lola techie commercial) was the chosen provider for the bandwidth.
April 2011 was the 1st initial streaming of Roxas Audio Stream. It’s been tested and working on computer’s and mac’s using Windows Media player, VLC media player, WinAmp and iTunes. Working as well on iphone’s, ipod touch’s and blackberry’s. For now, it will play current music, US and UK Top 40, music of the 90′s, 80′s and 70′s and live mixes as well.
Currently, it streams at 32kbps on mp3 format.
